Restaurant Weddings!

Over the years, I have always loved a smaller crowd for weddings. Also, food as one of the stars of the day makes my heart sing.

Not having the traditions of introductions, cake cutting, or a bridal party make the day unique and fun for everyone ( including your vendors!!)

Restaurant weddings tend to elevate the dining experience, and lend to a “non traditional” wedding.

Also with restaurants, rentals are usually on the lighter side ( ie you don’t need to bring in china, glassware, table)

Past restaurant weddings I had last year were

1)An amazing brunch wedding, with dancing in Watertown
Brunch time was a less expensive option, as the restaurant traditionally serves dinner, so this was a “bonus” event for the space.
We had food stations, signature cocktails, and a “pre ceremony cocktail” hour, so the ceremony was sandwiched between some food and drinks. The wedding concluded at 3pm, and the guests continued the party at another local pub!

2) A family style dinner with an outdoor cocktail hour in Boston
For another event we got to use all the space at the restaurant and try so much food, with a family style meal for the guests. Long tables were set and food passed between all.
Passed apps and signature drinks were served on an outdoor patio in Downtown Boston.

3)A cocktail style party on the Cape
This couple had a church ceremony and then a heavy Cape Cod focused food menu/passed apps/stations. Oysters, a grazing board of cheeses and meats, Sliders, and mini desserts were passed and stationed for 3 hours as guests mingled, listened to toasts/speeches, and finished at an outdoor fire-pit on a chilly fall day.

If you’re looking for a more food focused event with your core friends and family, think about your favorite place to have dinner! Truly they might be open to hosting the event and making the place yours for the day!
