Happy engagement season! If you’ve recently said “yes!” to your sweetheart, you’re probably in the early stages of wedding planning. The first thing you should do is check out our recent post on all the things you should think of first when you get engaged. Have your season, ballpark number of guests, and an outline of a total budget? Good! Time to start visiting venues!

The Cape Cod area has no shortage of beautiful venues. But as any bride will tell you, venue hunting can get exhausting after a while! That’s one of the reasons our full-service wedding planning clients hire us – because we know the ins and outs of all the local venues, and can advise them on the best venues for their vision and budget.

Another thing our clients tell us? They want a unique venue. If all of their friends are getting married around the same time, they don’t want to use the same wedding venues as everyone else. We help find them someplace totally unique.

Chatham Bars Inn – Cape Cod

We love a Chatham Bars Inn wedding! It’s truly an experience, and has unreal sweeping views of the ocean. They only do one wedding a day, so you’ll have the full attention of the staff.

Destination Wedding Goals: It’s one of the best spots for a Cape Cod destination wedding. The town has the cutest main street, plenty of beaches, and a stunning lighthouse, giving your guests plenty of activities to keep them busy during the wedding weekend.

Full Service, all-in-one: This venue is incredible for couples looking for a luxe experience and an all-inclusive wedding weekend. The Inn can host a rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, post-wedding brunch, and an after-party all on-site. We love this – it makes everything super easy to plan for the couple, and easy for your guests, too! Our clients love doing an after-party with a bonfire and s’mores at the beach. It also has a spa – perfect for pre-wedding pampering!

Tented Lawn Wedding Option: If you’ve always dreamed of a tented lawn wedding but don’t want to deal with the expense/headache of hosting one at a private residence, the Chatham Bars Inn can host a tented wedding on their gorgeous lawn with views of the ocean.

Ideal for a Cape Cod honeymoon or mini-moon: Honestly, this resort is so gorgeous that you could just stay there for your honeymoon. With delicious food, a luxury spa, beautiful rooms, and the nearby beaches, it’s an ideal spot for a Cape Cod honeymoon or mini-moon.

Chequessett is a special venue for us – Jyl’s own brother got married there! It’s perfect for the DIY bride who wants a casual, relaxed wedding vibe.

Private Beach: Yes, a beach just for you, no random kids running in the background and ruining your wedding photos. You’ll have access to their private beach for your ceremony and photos.

A DIY Venue with Rustic Charm: Get married on the beach, have your cocktail hour in the boathouse, and celebrate your dinner under the SailCloth Tent. This relaxed venue has lots of potential to make the space your own. You can make it super casual OR really dress it up with florals and decor – whatever your heart desires.

Classic Cape Cod Wedding Vibes: With views of Wellfleet Beach and a golf course, you’ll have plenty of opportunity for perfect photos. If you have 100 or fewer guests, you can have a seated dinner in the boathouse itself!

Wychmere Beach Club

WaterViews all Around: Wychmere has three different, stunning venues, all with stunning views of the Water. Rooms vary in size capacities, but all offer ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in the same building. The Dune Room is the newest additional to Wychmere, and it’s stunning rooftop is our new favorite ceremony spot!

Ease of Events: Wychmere has hotel rooms on site, Bridal rooms at the reception site ( for when your bridal party needs to hang out during photos, or you need to change into your reception dress!) Wychmere also has plenty of parking, and amazing plan B options in case the weather doesn’t cooperate on wedding day.

Endless picture spots: Check out the HarborView, right off Route 28, a public park, for a great first look location. Or Wychmere has dockside, rooftop, or toes in the sand beach options for photos.
